Curtis Whitear
CREATOR, FESTIVAL CO-DIRECTOR
Curtis Whitear is a filmmaker from Bountiful, Utah, now based in Brooklyn, who is still doing something he should have given up a long time ago. Despite all indications that he should stop, he is directing a documentary following an artist attempting to build the largest sculpture in the world.
Childhood Delusions Film Festival, which has charmed hundreds, is perhaps his most accessible idea yet. He hopes the festival will help others transform their childhood delusions into adulthood realities. -
Joe Soonthornsawad
FESTIVAL CO-DIRECTOR
Joe Soonthornsawad is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from the burbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. His NYC debut was not one of his very serious attempts at cinema. Nope, it was Joehio (CDFF 2022), a 11-minute mock epic he made in high school in which he played a preppy supreme dictator of a dystopian farm.
Now, Joe runs the festival’s operations, keeping the wheels of delusion turning with some degree of sanity, and working to expand the reach and impact of CDFF. How about that. -
Joann Chandler
FESTIVAL EVENTS COORDINATOR
Joann is originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and now lives in Brooklyn. Joann got her start event planning in the third grade; designing world-class sleepover experiences for herself and her friends, Joann made arrangements for pizza deliveries, thought up the most tantalizing questions for truth or dare, and spent waaay too long at Blockbuster picking out a movie to watch. [One multi-year attendee shared, “If there was birthday, holiday, dance, MCR album drop, or Scream watch party, you bet we were celebrating it in Joann’s basement”]
Joann has brought these hard skills with her to Childhood Delusions, so if you plan to attend the festival in person, prepare to be dazzled!!

Evan Jed Memmott
BRANDING & DESIGN
It was a second grade school-wide art contest that gave Evan Jed Memmott a taste for artistic stardom. He’s been hooked ever since - winning grants and awards for his work deep into adulthood.
Evan designed the poster for the 2024 edition of CDFF, and has continued down the delusional path, most recently designing the festival’s beloved mini director’s chair logo.
